But before we delve into keyboard shortcuts, you may want to download the Google Chrome click-to-dial feature, which enables all VTSL business phone system users to dial from their desk phone, simply by highlighting and right clicking any number you find on the web. The feature is free and only takes a minute to set-up. So even if you don’t remember any of the keyboard shortcuts below, you can at least connect your phone to your browser. All you have to remember is that if you right click a number, your office phone will start dialling, just like magic. Get click-to-dial here.
In no particular order, here are our favourite Google Chrome shortcuts (with big thanks to Sidekick for the images!).
1. Reopen last tab closed
We have all closed a tab accidently, realising immediately afterwards that we needed that page. To bring your tab back to life, press Command and Shift, then press T to quickly recover it. For PC, hold Ctrl and Shift, then press T.
You can avoid dragging your mouse to the search bar to type in a URL or Google something, because now you can hold Command and press L to get your cursor there.
3. Opens the find bar
Need to find a key word or phrase on the page? Hold Command and press F. Then simply type what you’re looking for. On PC, hold Ctrl and press F.
Read a fantastic article and want to save it? Or need to bookmark a useful tool? Hold Command and press D. On PC, hold Ctrl and press D.
When you have too many tabs open, but don’t want to close them yet, open a new window. To do this, hold Command and press N. On PC, hold Ctrl and press N.
