Spotlight Interview: Chief Technical Officer, Dan Wilson

Some may think that children no longer want to take after their parents professionally, especially given the new career opportunities technology has created in recent years. However Dan Wilson, VTSL's Chief Technical Officer, not only decided to become the next generation of telecoms experts in his family, but pursue the next generation of telecoms technology itself. Dan learned about technical things at a young age, playing with everything from fax machines to telephones to computers long before most kids had every laid eyes on such devices. That childhood passion developed into valuable professional expertise that VTSL has relied on since its inception. Now with a child of his own, we can only wonder what the next generation of Wilsons will bring the telecoms industry (and what equipment Dan's son has been dissecting in much the same way his father did!). Below Dan answers a few questions for us, in VTSL's second employee spotlight interview.

VTSL Welcomes its First Apprentice

Spring release is here - v7.0 of VTSL's VoIP phone system

The biannual upgrade to the VTSL cloud-based telephony platform is now live for spring 2015. With it comes new features and increased capabilities for our VoIP phone system users. Our favourite new feature is 10 way conferencing. Now with just a push of the 'Conf' button on your phone, you are able to conference up to nine people (in addition to yourself) instead of two as was previously the case.

Spotlight Interview: Technical Director, Malik Ahmed

Malik came to the UK at 16 from Pakistan, not speaking English. Now he is Technical Director at VTSL and our number one go-to person for virtually any problem, in any language. What usually strikes people most when they first meet Malik is his vast amount of knowledge on everything from astrophysics, to VoIP, to Chinese food, and his limitless enthusiasm for life.
