More and more businesses moved online during the pandemic, and with that, internet usage has sky-rocketed to new heights. Now it’s perfectly acceptable (and preferable for most customers) to do all sorts of things online that perhaps weren’t an option or not seen as plausible previously.

For example, making and attending an appointment with your GP is now just as likely to be conducted online as in person, online shopping has, of course, increased dramatically, and even services like recruitment and financial services are provided online rather than requiring a fixed office location and endless in-person meetings. Due to this, many of these businesses have changed the locations they work from, too and flexible workspaces are increasing in popularity year on year.

So, what does this mean for the future of the working world? Well, for previously static office-based businesses or those offering services, it means that processes have become far more efficient. And with that, the services that support this need to be just as efficient. For example, the internet connection needs to be impeccable, yet not as much physical space is required, but far more online resources are. Plus, staff need to be able to access technology from any location – be that inside a flexible workspace or outside, for example, if they work from home.

With the rise of co-working, flexible office spaces are in hot demand. And it’s estimated there are approximately 35,000 such spaces across the world - whether that’s in a bustling city like London or Paris, or a beach town in Mexico such as Playa del Carmen – it’s clear that flexible working is here to stay.

By 2030 it’s predicted that 30% of all office spaces are going to be flexible or co-working spaces. It’s safe to say that to stay competitive in such a market, landlords need to keep a constant watch on emerging trends surrounding the services they deliver and ensure they’re up to scratch for those working through the digital transformation. In this new way of working, tenants expect these spaces to support their business needs, with lightning-fast speeds and minimal downtime.

Rapid WiFi, hyper-connected services and platforms and technology that integrates, and syncs together are some of the key requirements from the majority of businesses brought about since this monumental change to the way of working. Cloud communications are instrumental in supporting these technologies and for allowing small and medium-sized businesses to upgrade their communications - without the vast costs usually associated with this.

VTSL offers multiple customisable packages that are designed with the new, super-charged and super-connected working world in mind. WiFi-as-a-service is perfect for flexible office spaces and means landlords can offer tenants exceptional, top of the range internet services without the risk of ending up with high ongoing costs or long contracts.
