It is a gadget that is useful for almost anyone, and affordable at that. Better yet, it is a gadget that can be used by those who have no interest in technology and technology fanatics alike.
What is it?
It's called TrackR. It is a state-of-the-art tracking device smaller than a 50p coin. It can keep track of anything—from your car to your wallet.
How Does it Work?
Just install the free TrackR app on your smartphone, connect the app to your device and you're ready to go.
You can attach the device to just about anything—your keys, briefcase, wallet and anything else you don't want to lose. Then use the TrackR app to locate your missing item in seconds. Many of the 2.5 million of these devices already sold are attached to cars, so that forgetful device owners can find their vehicle in parking garages easily without having to remember Level 5, Red, 543. You no longer need an expensive GPS tracking system, which is welcome news to most people as they virtually all have monthly subscriptions fees.
Where can I buy one and how much does it cost?
You can buy it directly from the company's website by clicking here.
It costs £24.99.
What else can it be used for?
There are a lot of ways to use TrackR. The device is unobtrusive enough that you can attach it to your pet. Put it on their collar, and they can’t get lost. It comes with double-sided adhesive so that you can stick it to your laptop, or under your bike seat.
Want to spend a bit more money?
Another option for a great Christmas present gadget is Amazon Echo. This is the ‘home assistant’ that you can ask to turn lights on, play music, tell you about the weather, travel times and more. The assistant is affectionately called Alexa. Having spoken to her quite a lot recently—we can confirm she is surprisingly good at some things, albeit not great at others. She is excellent at playing a song or playlist from Spotify, telling you the weather and answering straightforward questions about general knowledge. She couldn’t tell us anything about sports scores however, or answer follow up questions in the context of the first question.
Nonetheless, we think Amazon Echo would make a fantastic Christmas present for those deserving of its £129.99 price tag.
